The People of Namibia
Duration: 16 days
This tour gives you the opportunity to experience the culture and lifestyle of the different Namibian people, and also to see some of the spectacular landscapes which Namibia is known for.
Day 1: Swakopmund
You will be met at Walvis Bay Airport and transferred to your accommodation, receive your car and a full briefing. Take in a township tour as a great introduction to the many cultures within Namibia. Swakopmund itself has a large German community which can be seen in the architecture and excellent food and beer available in this pretty coastal town.
DAY 2: Namib Desert
Drive from Swakopmund, via the flamingoes at Walvis Bay to the Namib Naukluft desert. A long drive on gravel roads of approx. 5 hours.
DAY 3: Sossusvlei
Climb the world's highest sand dunes at Sossusvlei. In the afternoon enjoy a nature drive. Overnight Namib Naukluft Lodge or similar.
DAY 4: Windhoek
Drive via Gamsberg Pass to Windhoek, our capital city.
DAY 5: Windhoek
Spend the day exploring the capital.
DAY 6: Etosha National Park
Day 7: Etosha
A full day of game viewing in Etosha National Park.
DAY 8: Etosha
DAY 9: Opuwo
Drive through flat sandy plains, Makalani palms and Mopane woodlands on route to Opuwo, and take a tour of a nearby Himba Tribe settlement
DAY 10: Oshakati
Visit bustling Ovamboland, see Nakambale museum at Olukondo, the former Finnish Mission Station and enjoy a traditional lunch at Ngonga homestead.
DAY 11: Etosha
Travel to Treesleeper Camp, visit a traditional bushman village. After lunch visit Ombili Foundation, an upliftment project for San farmers.
Day 12: Tsumeb
Visit Herero graves, Kavango woodcarvers market, Tsumeb open-air museum and a mining museum.
Day 12: Erindi Private Game Reserve
DAY 14-15: Swakopmund
Return to Swakopmund. Take a Township Tour, catch up on last minute souvenir shopping or take in one of the many adventure activities on offer.
DAY 16: Departure
